We Salute The Alliance for Children's Rights
For 20 Years of Eliminating Injustices Created by Poverty, Abuse & Neglect
03.27.12
One can’t argue the facts:
- Over a quarter of children in Los Angeles live in poverty.
- Los Angeles County has the highest number of kids in foster care in the country.
- Less than 4% of foster children aging out of care graduate from a four-year college.
The Alliance for Children’s Rights was founded in light of these facts and is committed to changing these statistics to make Los Angeles a place where all children have hope for a bright future. The Private Bank of California is an advocate of this organization and recently participated in the Alliance’s 20th Anniversary Dinner – which commemorated 20 years of eliminating injustices created by poverty, abuse and neglect.
The event, which honored Fox’s Kevin Reilly as the National Champion for Children, took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Celebrity guests, such as Seth MacFarlane and Kate Walsh, showed up to enjoy the program led by Master of Ceremonies Jane Lynch. The captive audience heard personal accounts from children whose lives had been saved by The Alliance and everyone was treated to a live musical performance by Zooey Deschanel.
The Private Bank of California salutes The Alliance for 20 years of providing free legal services and advocacy to protect the rights of over 100,000 impoverished and abused children and youth. We encourage you to learn more about this powerful organization by visiting Kids-Alliance.org.
