Spotlight on Drago's Newest Venture - Yojisan Sushi
04.17.12
The Private Bank of California is proud to support restaurateur Giacomino Drago and his newest Beverly Hills restaurant Yojisan Sushi. For those who appreciate good food as much as we do, you know that this isn't Drago's first sushi venture. In addition to his handful of Italian restaurants in the Greater Los Angeles area, including Piccolo Paradiso and Il Pastaio, Giacomino opened Sushi House Unico (SHU) several years ago.
His most recent sushi endeavor, Yojisan Sushi, has Drago partnering with award-winning SHU sushi chef Yoji Tajima, for whom the restaurant has been named. This partnership provides the perfect platform to showcase Tajima's creativity and Drago's talent for providing customers with the freshest ingredients and highest level of service. Yojisan Sushi is slated to have a modern feel with traditional Japanese flare.
Drago, the youngest of eight children, is from a small town in Sicily's Messina region. During his childhood, the Drago family grew and made almost everything they ate - from olive oil to cheese to wine. It is fitting that Drago and his brothers would have such a love for food and come to America to share the flavor of Italy with Los Angeles.
"It is my passion to share the experience of great food with my friends and family here in Los Angeles," said Giacomino. "I am so thankful to those who have supported me along the way, including The Private Bank of California, and am excited to unveil Yojisan Sushi to the public."
In his late teens, Giacomino Drago came to L.A. to work for his brother Celestino. They opened several restaurants together and in 1993 Giacomino was voted 'Youngest Entrepreneur of the Year' by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. With over 20 years of restaurant service to Los Angeles, his philosophy remains the same - "Just use the best and the freshest ingredients, and keep it simple." He even has his own line of pastas, sauces, and olive oil.
With ten successful restaurants in L.A. bearing the Drago name, it is safe to say that Giacomino and his brother Celestino have quite the Italian empire in Los Angeles, and Yojisan Sushi will no doubt fall right in line.
Yojisan Sushi is now open and located at 260 N. Beverly Dr., Beverly Hills, CA 90201. For more information visit GiacominoDrago.com.
