The Zimmer’s Annual Discovery Award Dinner

The Private Bank recently attended the 12^th Annual Discovery Award Dinner organized by The Zimmer Children’s Museum.  Held earlier this month at the Beverly Hills Hotel, The Discovery Award Dinner honors extraordinary individuals who are leaders in their fields and communities.  The event, hosted by comedian and actor Dane Cook, honored Deborah Klein, partner at Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein, her husband Mort Marcus, Co-President of Debmar-Mercury, Carrie Lieberman, Partner at Team Tutors, and Sharon Sacks, President and Founder of the event company Sacks Productions.

The Discovery Award Dinner is the Zimmer’s single largest fundraiser.  This year the annual dinner raised over $460,000, which will go to support many of the museum programs.  The event welcomed museum donors, the Board of Advisors, the President’s Advisory Board, the Women’s Leadership Council, The Private Bank of California, and many other supporters.  A live auction took place which included big ticket items such as two sideline tickets to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, an Ultra Luxury Cocktail & Martini Party, and a Set Visit for Two to the show Anger Management.

The Zimmer Children’s Museum is the only children’s museum in the city of Los Angeles and is dedicated to teaching people about the big ideas of global citizenship, cultural sensitivity and community responsibility.  The Bank and its President Richard A. Smith, who was a 2011 Zimmer Discovery Award Recipient, are proud to support The Zimmer Children’s Museum and its mission to promote values that help make a better society through interactive learning, creative self-expression and art experiences for children and families.
